The Staff Selection Commission (SSC), formed on November 04, 1975, and headquartered in New Delhi, India, is the division of the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT). It is the premier Indian organisation to recruit staff for various posts in various ministries, departments, and organisations in the Government of India.
SSC CHSL, or the Staff Selection Commission – Combined Higher Secondary Level, is a national level exam conducted for recruitment in various Government ministries, departments and organisations. Once you pass the exam, you are hired for the following posts:
- Data entry operators
- Postal assistant/Sorting assistant
- Lower divisional clerk/Junior secretariat assistant
SSC CHSL is conducted in four levels or tiers, namely – Tier 1, Tier 2, and Tier 3. The exam is conducted in both online and offline modes.

SSC CHSL Age Limit
The lower and upper age limit as on January 01, 2022 is 18 years and 27 years respectively. SSC also provides upper age limit relaxation to the candidates from below categories –

SSC CHSL Educational Qualification
- Minimum qualification is 10 + 2 or equivalent examination from a recognised board.
- For the role of Data Entry Operator, candidates must have passed 10 + 2 or equivalent examination in science stream with Mathematics as the main subject from a recognised board or university.

How to Apply Online for SSC CHSL 2022?
Candidates can apply online for SSC CHSL by following the below-given steps:
Part 1 – First Time Registration
Step 1: Go to the official website www.ssc.nic.in.
Step 2: Click on the New User/ Register Now Button, which will direct you to a new window.
Step 3: Next, fill in your basic details like name, parents’ name, date of birth, email id, mobile number etc.
Step 4: Once filled, candidates shall click on the submit button. Make sure to cross-check your details before submitting. Once done, the candidate will be provided with a Registration ID for SSC CHSL 2022 exam.
Step 5: Lastly, candidates shall upload the signatures and required documents.
Part 2 – Filling of Online Application for the Examination
Step 6: Log in with the registered ID and password to complete the Part II of the application form for SSC CHSL 2022.
Step 7: Next, fill in the details asked for in the application form.
Step 8: Pay the application fees of Rs. 100 (Women of all categories and male candidates in reserved categories are exempted).
