Multifunctional products are taking over the beauty industry. Not only do they make your makeup bag lighter, but they also make your purse lighter. Having a product that you can do half of your face with makes life a lot easier, especially if you’re rushing to do your make up in the morning before work or before school. Some examples of these muti uses products, are lip stain that double up and blush, moisturizers that double up as skin tints and SPFs and even brow pencils that are eye liners and even lip liners. Overall, these types of products are perfect for traveling, busy mornings and savvy shoppers who don’t want to splurge on multiple products for each job.
Glossy and Glowy
Gone are the days of matt make up and using loose powder to bake your makeup into your face. The switch to natural and more skin centred make up has given birth to the trend of having glowy skin, glossy lips and even glossy eyelids, to give the effect of health and radiance. To achieve this look, focusing on the skin is key. By using products such as skin tints and cream blushes and opting to not use powder, the glowy effect from within is achieved. To go one step further, it’s recommended to also use gloss on the lips and eye lids, for a more editorial look.
Ethical and Sustainable Products
The move towards sustainability and ethical practices has had a huge effect, especially on consumers, in the beauty world. Now more than ever, beauty lovers want products that align with their ethical standpoints, such as animal testing or recyclable packaging. Animal testing is a huge issue in the make up industry, with huge brands still using these methods of testing therefore make up brands who don’t partake in this, are rising in popularity. Alternatively, on the sustainable side, many companies are making reusable packaging and refillable products. This is both sustainable for the environment and less expensive for the customer.
Coffee Mocha Tones
As the colder seasons approach, so do warmer and brown tones in make up. Everyone loves a mocha in the colder seasons, so why not wear these colours every day in winter? Brown tones are popping up everywhere this season, from nails to eyeliner to lips, monochrome brown tones are taking over winter. To try it yourself, all you need to do is pair a brown lip shade with a brown wing and make sure to bronze up your face well! This is a diverse and versatile look, so is great to wear as an everyday make up look in the office, but also high impact enough to be worn to dinner or out for a girls night out.
Blush, Blush and More Blush
Another trend taking the beauty industry by storm is blush. By now, you’ve probably seen blush appear all over your tiktok after years of no-one using it! However a more recent trend with blush is the sunset blush trend. This is where powder and cream blush is built up to create a dramatic look to imitate a post-workout glow. This stems from the natural make up trend and more high fashion looks, where blush is bought high up the cheek bones and not just kept to the apples of the cheeks.
